How to Add a Bank Account to your Tenant Web Portal

Getting Started

User's of Rentroom can add their bank account to the mobile app using Plaid. Plaid is a service that allows financial technology companies(like Rentroom) to interface with over 10,000 bank across the United States for users to instantly connect to their financial institution without the need to verify with micro-deposits.

Tap "Bank Setup" from the payments screen

Instant Bank Auth(Recommended)

1. An action sheet will appear at the bottom of the iOS device
2. Select "bank account"
3. Launch Plaid auth flow for instant bank auth
4. User will sign in with bank credentials
5. Once you've successfully made it through the Plaid workflow, you will be able to make payments through Rentroom
   
   

Micro-deposit Auth

1. Launch Plaid auth flow for instant bank auth
2. Exit out of Plaid auth by selecting the "X" or "Exit" button in the top right. 
3. Rentroom will ask if you want to connect with account and routing numbers
   • Select "Yes"
   • Enter in account and routing numbers into the prompt
4. After you've complete the above steps, Rentroom will deposit two small amount in your checking or saving account. These amounts will show on your bank statement from "Rentroom Holdings LLC" and will range from $0.01 - $0.09. Please note: the deposits take 1-2 business days to hit the destination account.
5. Once you have received the micro-deposit amounts, please go back into Rentroom and select "Bank Setup". There should then subsequently be a "Verify" option where you can input the amounts that you have received. 
6. Once you've successfully made it through the micro-deposit workflow, you will be able to make payments through Rentroom
