Transitioning to Rentroom is an exciting endeavor for both landlords and tenants! By using Rentroom, you can save hours of time, while providing your tenants with a convenient experience to pay rent and submit maintenance tickets online.
You'll unlock the most value from Rentroom when your tenants are setup for success. After onboarding hundreds on landlords onto our platform, we have developed several best practices that landlords and property managers can take advantage of to ensure a seamless transition to Rentroom's mobile apps or tenant facing website.
1. Linking Rentroom on your Website
Adding Rentroom links to your website help tenants to understand that Rentroom is the preferred online payment method for paying rent, security deposits and fees. Additionally, your website is typically the first line of defense for tenants when they are looking to pay rent or submit a maintenance ticket.
- Links to Rentroom
- Mobile App: https://link-to.app/0sbb6Cjt
- Web App for Tenants: https://admin.getrentroom.com/tenantwebsignup
- Pro-tip: We recommend landlords and managers link their tenants to the web app
- Create Menu Links in Popular Website Editors
- Embed Rentroom Button using HTML/HTML Embed
- Paste HTML Code Snippet into your web editor

2. Send a "Warning Shot" Email or Text to your Tenants
Rentroom sends your tenant's invitations and communications on the go-live date; however, we highly recommend that landlord or property owner send a communication shortly before. As you might imagine, your tenants might be unfamiliar with Rentroom. As such, it is helpful for the landlord or property owner to provide additional context and credibility to our communications. Tenants will be transferring their rent payments through our platform - we want to make certain that there is no hesitancy due to a lack of communication and/or poor messaging. Here is a great example of a successful "Warning Shot" email and text that landlords and property managers have previously sent.
Example Email:

Example Text Message:
3. If tenants have trouble, let them know that Rentroom is here to help!
There are several ways for tenants to get in contact our support team! For the best response times, we recommend that tenants reach out directly through:
- Email: support@getrentroom.com
- Chat: Instant message with support on the homepage of http://getrentroom.com or directly with-in our mobile app
- Call: 646-603-0978
4. Download our QR code 1-pager to distribute to you tenants
Tenants are in and out of your office for a multitude of reasons. We recommend that you keep a copy of this document on your desk or print a few copies out to distribute (see QR Doc.pdf attachment).
5. Provide additional value to tenants by offering deals from local businesses
In Rentroom's mobile app, we provide a platform for local and national businesses to offer deals to tenants. In your locality, if there are businesses that your tenants frequent, Rentroom can present relevant offers. We have noticed that by providing this "amenity", tenants are further incentivized to use Rentroom's mobile app/website. If there are any businesses in your area that might be a good fit, please let your account manager know or fill out this form!
